Sony Playstation 3Sony announced yesterday that they will start selling a PlayStation 3 bundle that will include the much anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the patriots game and a DualShock 3 controller for $499 no later than the second quarter of 2008. If you were waiting for a reason to purchase a PS3, now you have two. The first is of course Blu-ray winning the format war over HD DVD and the second is no doubt getting your hands on MGS4 along with your new game console for a price that beats buying the console alone. To put this in perspective, the 40GB PS3 alone will cost you $399 on Amazon. Similarly, the DualShock wireless controller costs an additional $55 and MGS4 another $70. The bundle which comes with an 80GB PS3, the controller and the game costs $25 less. Not exactly huge savings but nothing to laugh at. Expect the PS3 to have a great 2008 over rival game consoles.
